i-escape is an online travel agency that specializes in finding out-of-the-way, boutique accomodations in nice, exotic places. They review the places in great details including what to do, what to bring, insider tips and even which room(s) to book in a particular place, and they're constantly adding new, interesting places to their list. You can request a booking via their website, which gets sent to the hotel proprietor. This is the second time we've used i-escape (first one being for Zanzibar), and we've not been disappointed either time -- both with i-escape and with the hotels in question. The other nice thing is that prices are the same whether you go through i-excape or go directly to the hotel. Deals may be had by going direct to the hotels but I've been willing to book through the intermediary if I feel a little extra peace of mind (i.e. hotels won't want to alienate the customer of an important lead generator for them) and the prices aren't higher than what the hotels charge through their site. I'm guessing offseason is when some deals may be had by going direct.
Rags, hope you are well.
Great recommendation about i-escape. Am using them to plan a trip or two to Italy this spring.
Love the blog btw!
